Day 1
Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Climb through dense rainforest to the first camp at 3,000 m.

To Shira Camp
Out of the forest onto open moorland with the first wide views of Kibo.

Day 3
Lava Tower to Barranco
Climb high to 4,600 m, then sleep lower at Barranco. The key acclimatisation day.

Barranco Wall to Karanga
A hands-on scramble up the Barranco Wall and a short day to Karanga Valley.

To Barafu Base Camp
Rest and prepare for the summit night at 4,670 m.

Summit night
Start near midnight, reach Stella Point at dawn and Uhuru Peak soon after. Descend to Mweka.

Down to Mweka Gate
Walk out through the forest, collect your summit certificate and return to Moshi.
